Have you ever wanted to get more involved with your creative side? Pick up a new hobby? Learn how our ancestors used the resources around them to make tools, candles, soap – heck… to survive? Well then this is the place for you!
All ages are welcome! We hold art classes in our shop, or we can travel to your school or home! We will look with Awe and Wonder, at God’s creativity and design in our natural world! We will examine different design elements used by our ancestors, discuss a little art history and you will have the opportunity to work on your very own leather project that you can take with you when you leave! We will show you the tools of the trade, and teach you how to use them just like the Native Americans or early settlers might have used them hundreds of years ago. No internet required 😉
We encourage cowboy/cowgirl hats and boots, and if you’re riding a horse, we’ve got a hitchin’ post near by. Booking a class can be done near the bottom of this page.
Art Class Details
$35 per person for a 2 hour session in our shop ($100 minimum).

By the end of the class, you will have learned:
– How to use the same Tools and Stamps used by a Professional Leatherworker.
– What the different Grades of Leather are and where our Leather comes from.
– How Native Americans Tanned and Used leather in the old days.
– How to Think Creatively about designing your first project.
– How to Properly ‘Case’ Leather to allow for our design to be ‘Tooled.’
– Why we use Dyes and Finishes to Stain and Protect our Project.
– And Most Importantly – You will have so much fun making your very own project!
Parents are more than welcome to stick around during Art Class! Or you can explore our little town and some of the amazing shops in walking distance (see below). We are located just East of Lincoln, in the amazing little town of Bennet, NE. Space is limited so you’ll need to RSVP by calling/texting 402-219-2501 in advance 😉

*NOTE: We do live on a small farm with a friendly dog, a few cats, 11 chickens and a hive of honey bees, in case any kiddos have allergies. If you have concerns, let us know and we can do our best to accommodate you!
